This app walks you through the streets of Rome to 12 real-life locations with 26 minutes of professionally recorded audio and images where Jesus's apostles spread his message, for which Rome ultimately persecuted and murdered them for. Listen to the stories and trials of the early Christians in and around the city of ancient Rome. This application will also guide you to each location in person and uses GPS to trigger the audio and images and text once you arrive to each point of interest. After the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the apostles spent their time traveling southern Europe and the Middle East spreading his message. At least four of the apostles journeys brought them to Rome, where three would suffer untimely ends. At the time, Rome was the center of power and luxury, with an abundance of wealth, self-indulgence, and glorious spectacles. The circuses were full of bloody shows and tales of battles where hundreds of criminals were killed for fun. These would feature pitched sea warfare, wild beasts tearing innocent people apart, and public execution. Nero was the Emperor of Rome who started an era of widespread, state sanctioned Christian persecution that lasted nearly 300 years when he blamed Christians for the Great Fire of Rome in the year 64. This was a period of great change and paranoia, and the Christian practice of private worship and one god were considered unnatural. Christian behavior was in direct contrast to the Romans very public displays towards their many deities. This led to the death of countless Christians. Some were willing martyrs, and others were killed simply for public entertainment. Consequently, Christianity was commonly practiced in secret, aided by the construction of miles of underground caverns and passageways that allowed believers to worship in secret. Finally, for 2.16, to all app descriptions, we will have to add the following statement: Note: The app and GPS remain active in the background as you walk from point to point, so that you can listen to each location as you travel without removing the phone from your pocket and without pressing any buttons, even when your phone goes to sleep. You can modify the GPS timer on the More tab, to customize the amount of time the GPS will run in the background. *This app is for iOS6 (released 2012) and iOS7 (released 2013) only. Earlier versions of iOS will not work as intended, so please update to the latest iOS. **Please note, continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life
